Our client is a thriving Accountancy firm based in Rickmansworth and they would like to recruit an accounts assistant to join their established team.
This role offers the opportunity for an already experienced proactive accounts assistant to develop their skills and gain greater autonomy under the guidance of their manager.
The company’s success is built on great customer service and so this a client handling role and the accounts assistant is expected to really get to know their clients and to understand their business needs.

Role:
Working closely with the Accounts Manager, the successful candidate with assist with all matters relating to their clients’ tax and account affairs. The role is varied and the Accounts Assistant is expected to respond to ad hoc requests as well as perform the duties listed below.
• Bookkeeping, bank reconciliations and control accounts
• Preparation of VAT returns and submissions
• Submission of company accounts, CT600s and Personal Tax returns
• General administration duties e.g. tax registrations, new client paperwork, company closures
• Making sure records and database is up to date at all times
• Ability to prioritise and work under pressure to meet statutory deadlines for VAT, Payroll, Accounts and Personal Tax
• Liaising with HMRC
• Respond to client questions within expected timescales
Key Skills:
• The candidate must really enjoy looking after and communicating with their clients. They will be responsible for a range of clients of different sizes and must be able to respond to their needs and to develop excellent relationships.
• Commercial awareness is essential.
• The candidate will either be qualified through previous experience/study towards AAT/ACCA etc.
• Excellent attention to detail and have a strong understanding of accounting processes as well being proactive in predicting client needs.
• Have the ability to work both individually as part of a team and to take responsibility of their own workload.
• Being able to work to strict timelines and accuracy in data input is essential.
Benefits:
Remuneration: £18,000 to £20,000 dependent on experience

28 days holiday including bank holiday.
Offices hours 9.30-5.30
