The role
As a Waste Porter, you will help ensure waste and hospital logistics are moved safely and efficiently around the hospital site.
Your duties will include:
- Safely moving hospital stores and waste using electric vehicles
- Receiving, sorting, storing and preparing waste for collection
- Driving electric vehicles around designated areas while following Health & Safety procedures
- Carrying out pre-shift checks and reporting any vehicle faults
- Reporting Health & Safety hazards to the Team Leader
- Maintaining high standards of personal hygiene and infection control
- Completing relevant records and paperwork accurately
- Following Health & Safety, quality and hospital policies and procedures
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred
- Good communication skills
- Good customer care skills
- Reliable, flexible and adaptable
- Able to follow procedures and Health & Safety requirements
- A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
