Successful & specialist freight forwarder seek to enlist an import clearance operator to join their team at their new modern and well-positioned office at London Gateway.
As part of the UK division - this relatively small team of 12 operate temperature controlled cargo for some of the largest food manufacturers in the world - and as part of a large portfolio of European companies involved in all aspects of the global supply chain.
The emphasis is firmly on growth & expansion for this particular arm of the business - so forward thinking people with their goals set on progression would be a welcome addition to this ambitious team. The successful addition will bring a clear and practised understanding of customs declarations, ideally veterinary, phyto and HRL declarations. You will have a practiced understand of drawing up and separating varying documents of origin. The role will be responsible in assessing the correct tariffs for customs duties, agricultural levies, VAT, etc. Ideally you will have experience of IPR/ OPR entries, as well as CVED/ CHEDD but this is not essential, training is offered.
The successful candidate will ideally be well-versed in file handling from origin to door, and familiar with more complex customs affairs. The role focus is on the correct application of product-specific legislation and ensuring the efficient handling of incoming and outgoing goods/consignments.
As this role offers a great deal of autonomy, flexibility is offered on hours. Branch is covered 8am-6pm, but options to work 9-5.30/ 8-4.30 etc. are available.
