Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust was founded more than 250 years ago, and became an NHS Trust on April 1st 1994.

The Hospital has in excess of 700 beds, including ITU, HDU and coronary care wards. There are 6 main operating theatres, plus additional theatres for gynaecology, ENT, dental, obstetrics, elective orthopaedic and ophthalmic surgery.

Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust services an estimated population of 360,000 through 3,500 staff. Annually there are 50,000 outpatients and approximately 35,000 inpatients. It is estimated that a further 127,000 visit the hospital each year.
